On September 19, the State Bank announced the central exchange rate of 24,060 VND, an increase of 14 VND compared to yesterday. With a margin of 5% compared to the central exchange rate, commercial banks are allowed to trade in the price range from 22,857 VND to 25,263 VND.
The selling price of USD at the State Bank Exchange today also increased by 15 VND to 25,213 VND. The purchase price remains unchanged at 23,400 VND.
In the first two days of the week, the USD price at commercial banks increased by about 120 VND and was also the highest level since the beginning of the year. At Vietcombank, the exchange rate today is 24,175 - 24,545 VND, a slight increase of 15 VND compared to yesterday.
Compared to the peak set in the third quarter of last year, the bank dollar price is still about 340 VND per USD lower, equivalent to about 1.3%.
In the international market, the USD has been somewhat weaker in recent days but is still at a half-year high.
Before the meeting of the US Federal Reserve (Fed), world gold prices increased by ten dollars in the past 24 hours to 1,936 USD an ounce, the highest level in the past two weeks. If converted according to Vietcombank exchange rate, the world gold price is equivalent to 57.29 million VND per tael, 11.8 million VND lower than the domestic price.
Domestic gold prices also remain high, above 69 million VND per tael. SJC Jewelry Company today maintains gold bar prices at 68.45 - 69.15 million VND. DOJI Jewelry Group raised the price of gold bars to 68.55 - 69.4 million VND per tael. DOJI pushed the buying and selling difference to 850,000 VND per tael.
