The winning price is more than 27,800 billion VND and nearly 339 million USD (more than 8,100 billion VND).
The contract performance period is 1,170 days, equivalent to 39 months. Previously, the investor planned to start construction at the end of August. Thus, the Long Thanh airport terminal is expected to be completed by the end of November 2026.
The Vietur consortium consists of 10 businesses, led by IC Istas (under IC Holdings of Türkiye). The remaining members include Mr. Nguyen Ba Duong's ecosystem such as Ricons, Newtecons, Sol E&C; state-owned enterprises such as Construction Corporation No. 1, Vinaconex, Hanoi Construction Corporation and others such as Phuc Hung Holdings, ATAD and Hawee.
In particular, the introduced Turkish contractor built Pulkovo airport in Russia, Varna Burgas in Bulgaria, the rest are airports in Turkey's homeland. On the domestic side, Vinaconex has won many bidding packages in the field of airports. ATAD also has experience in constructing steel structures for many airports in the country.
Vietur is one of three units participating in the second bidding phase, besides Hoa Lu Joint Venture and CHEC-BCEG-Vietnam Contractors. At the beginning of August, Vietur was the only consortium rated by ACV to meet the technical requirements. After the first round of bidding, Hoa Lu Consortium accused Vietur Consortium of violating bidding regulations and failing to meet the technical requirements of this bidding package.
ACV responded that the evaluation of bids was carried out in accordance with the order and procedures of the law on bidding. "The bid solicitor affirms that the evaluation of the contractor's technical documents is thorough, fair and honest," the document signed by Deputy General Director Nguyen Tien Viet stated.
On August 21, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha assigned the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Transport and the Committee for the Management of State Capital at Enterprises to guide ACV in evaluating bids. Government leaders raised the spirit of ensuring transparency, efficiency and not delaying progress.
Long Thanh Airport is a national key project consisting of many component projects. In which, package 5.10 - construction and installation of passenger terminal equipment, with a total value of more than 35,000 billion VND is the largest item.
According to the calculation of Vietcap Securities (Vietcap) analysis group, the maximum total profit for a contractor participating in package 5.10 is about 525 billion VND. This profit is relatively large compared to the average annual net profit in the period of 2019-2022 of enterprises in the Vietur Consortium such as Ricons, Vinaconex, CC1, HAN, and Phuc Hung Holdings.
